TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta - Latest Android phone to process Web pages 52percent faster than the iPhone 4 that run IOS 4.3, according to thousands ofindependent field tests released Thursday by Blaze Software.
Tests carried out on
two devices to 45 thousand tests. For Android 2.3 in Nexus S smart phone uses Google's Chrome versions, the average load time was 2.144 seconds, compared to 3.254 seconds for the iPhone 4 that run IOS 4.3 of Safari, according to this study.
Blaze use website Fortune 1,000 for the test, by running the test repeatedly loading a web page via Wi-Fi and 3G wireless connection with nothing else running on the phone at the time.
Android phone is faster than the iPhone in the loading of 84 percent of the tested website. "Android is not just faster overall, but provide a faster browsing experience four times from five trials," said the study.
Blaze tried to depict an objective test by stating he did not have a relationship with Google or Apple "in whatever form," said David Horne, manager of marketing programs Blaze to Ottawa, in an e-mail.
While Android excels in processing time comparison, this study noted that both "are generally quick." However, the study also noted that "the speed of the browser is a big problem" and became a prominent point when Apple and Google recently noted improved JavaScript engine.
"Performance of Browsers are all problems, and everyone says they are faster," adds the study.
The study's authors said they were surprised by the result.
Surprise arises because both the iPhone and Android have optimized JavaScript engine in their latest version, but not much faster than previous versions which were also tested, said Blaze.
