The Captivate is a nice looking slab of tech, but it is slippery. I hated to ruin the design by covering it with a silicone skin, but I know I'd drop it without a better grip. The Amzer skin for the Captivate is like a Batman costume for your phone. It serves its function well and, incredibly, makes the phone look even cooler. 

The consistency and texture make it easy to hold onto. If you drop the phone while it's wearing the Amzer skin, it's definitely your own fault. It has thick, reinforced corners and spine though, so it will mitigate a reasonable amount of shock from droppage. It fits snugly, and aligns perfectly with the buttons, speaker, mic, camera, headphone jack and USB port. 

For maximum protection, it's a good idea to apply a transparent screen cover in combination with this skin. There are some out there made specifically for the Captivate, so get one and have a pro apply it for you. It should last for the life of your phone. I know it feels better without protection, but don't be a fool.

This silicone case fits perfectly with the Captivate both in size and color. Would not recommend buying the white one that simply looks ridiculous on a black captivate ;)
