Android Finally Defeat Blackberry in the U.S.
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta - Google's Android operating system to beat Research in Motion, maker of the Blackberry, to the smart phone platform market leader in the United States, as the monitoring agency marketing, comScore.
Android now leads with a market share reached 31.2 percent for smart phones during the three months ended in January. RIM is now ranked second with 31.2 percent market share.
In third position is occupied Apple with 24.7 percent market share, Microsoft is ranked next with 8 percent market share, and Palm with 3.2 percent.
According to comScore, 234 million Americans have mobile devices until last January and 65.8 million have a smart phone.
Samsung was in the top position as ruler of the market mobile phone maker with 24.9 percent market share in the U.S.. LG is ranked second with 20.8 percent, Motorola third with 16.5 percent, 8.6 percent of RIM, and Apple's 7 percent.
